Project Management Essentials

Engineering context

Project management is a critical skill for engineers to master to ensure project success.

This two-day course focuses on the fundamentals of project management based on the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide)*. Participants will gain insight into the project lifecycle as well as project management methodologies, documentation, key roles, risk management, project quality, procurement, stakeholders, and closing projects.

Using a real project as a case study, participants will share ideas, collaborate on concepts and discuss solutions to learn practical tools and tips to use in the workplace. Learning materials will also be supplied to be used as a reference guide and documentation templates for future projects.

Upon completion, participants will understand key elements of Project Management including writing a Project Charter, evaluating a Project Management Plan, status reporting, resolving issues and managing change, conducting lessons learnt, and reviewing a project.

This course is delivered by our wholly owned subsidiary, The Moreland Group (RTO number 6332). The Moreland Group is a Registered Education Provider (R.E.P) with the Project Management Institute (PMI).
