A safe design approach begins in the conceptual and planning phases, taking into account the materials used and methods of manufacture or construction. A designer needs to consider how safety can best be achieved in each of the life cycle phases.
This one-day workshop details 'Sustainable and Safe Design' (S2D), a unique process that ensures human interaction with the built environment does not harm the natural environment, including the people that occupy it.
The workshop guides participants through the basics of a sustainable and safe design, hazard identification, risk assessment and controls, as well as the tools required to work towards 'S2D'.

Anurag Gupta has more than 35 years of experience in the energy sector during which he has gained excellent project management, engineering design and general management skills backed by a thorough technical understanding of the industry.
He provided strategic advice relating to the planning and project delivery for the development of the national grid in New Zealand and has managed a portfolio of significant substation projects across Australia and New Zealand.
Anurag has a sound technical background in power engineering. He has assisted in the delivery of a course on substation design at Queensland University of Technology. He has also authored and presented several papers on innovations in substation design at global forums including CEPSI.
