This one-day workshop is designed to help managers become effective leaders and apply a reflective approach to their personal management skills and leadership style.

Participants will learn practical solutions to leading and managing people in a diverse workplace and best practice strategies to improve the performance of themselves and others. The workshop will also focus on providing feedback, allowing participants to practice delivering corrective feedback in a safe environment.

The program will cover:

  • the role and characteristics of a leader, 
  • the importance of leadership and communication skills,
  • building and sustaining relationships, 
  • adapting management styles to suit the needs of staff, colleagues and stakeholders, and 
  • delivering immediate and ongoing feedback.

Your facilitator for this course

This workshop is facilitated by leading business educators, Alison Jardie and Grace O’Malley.

Alison Jardie is a professional facilitator and coach, a psychologist and a Master Practioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). She has over 20 years’ experience working with groups and individuals in a learning and development context. Alison has been responsible for leading large teams and organisational interventions, as well as designing and implementing successful, innovative and award-winning developmental programs.

Grace O’Malley has worked as a leadership, management and learning consultant for 10 years and specialises in leadership management and facilitation. She has worked in a wide range of organisations from small NGOs, Government, Corporate and private businesses; in health, engineering, vehicle, housing, community services and education sectors. Grace uses a mix of realistic experiences and case studies to engage participants during her workshops. In addition to a Bachelor of Education, Grace has a Diploma of Training and Assessment Systems, Certificate IV Training and Assessment, and an Advanced Diploma of Management.
