Dispute resolution is a key skill for any professional, particularly those involved in the negotiation or management of contracts. In recent years, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) has been recognized for its ability to save both time and money when compared to more traditional methods such as litigation.
This one-day course will cover the various types of ADR such as arbitration, adjudication, mediation and good old-fashioned negotiation. The merits of each approach will be analysed, with a focus on refining negotiation skills to apply to engineering, project and contracting activities.
Upon completion, you will be able to confidently recognize and deal with disputes, apply the appropriate ADR methods, and know when to walk away from negotiations.
