Contract Management (RESTRUCTURED)

Contract Management has been split into two separate workshops; an overview of the basics for all members of a project team; and a detailed workshop designed for engineers who manage or will manage contracts.

Contract FoundationsUnderstand a party's rights, responsibilities and obligations under a contract from a contract law expert. Learn about the legal framework surrounding contracts, the types of contracts available, requirements for validity, and potential issues that could arise. Find out more

Contracting for Lead EngineersOften engineering contracts can be complex as they require contribution and consultation between scientists, project managers, as well as engineers. This course will help participants identify the legal framework in which contracts operate, assist in the preparation of a contract, identify problems during contract drafting, recognise anti-competitive aspects of contracting and much more using engineering case studies. Introduction to Integrated Project Planning and Control (NEW)

Suitable for engineers working in project controls, project management, contract management or planning and scheduling, this one-day workshop aims to improve project efficiency through demonstrating how to integrate scheduling, cost control and contract management teams.

Participants will receive a practical understanding of the key elements of integrated project planning and control with case studies and activities from real engineering projects covering the perspectives of both owners and contractors. Find out more

Managing Engineering Knowledge and Risk (NEW)

Engineering organisations know that many of their highly experienced staff are at or near retirement age. Furthermore, engineers are in demand and experts of all ages are on the move. Loss of expert staff dilutes capability and may compromise business continuity for teams and the firm.

A critical question emerges: ‘Are we at risk of losing critical knowledge?’
