There are national and international standards to help us predict wind responses and design structures with less risk, including the Australian/New Zealand Standards AS/NZS 1170.2:2011 and International Standard ISO 4354.
This one-day workshop explains wind structure interaction and teaches you how to design for wind using the above standards.
The objective of this workshop is to provide you with an understanding of how wind action affects structures delivered through interactive sessions, illustrated examples and hands-on exercises.

This workshop is suited to structural engineers with a need to gain a greater understanding of Australian/New Zealand Standards AS/NZS 1170.2:2011 and International Standard ISO 4354.
Dr Seifu Bekele's work ranges from experimental wind tunnel tests to computational fluid dynamics. His projects include the World Trade Center in Las Vegas, Torre Espacio in Madrid, Sharm El Sherkh Airport in Egypt, Tiara Towers in Dubai, the Dubai Cricket Stadium, Keppel Bay Towers in Singapore, Millennium Towers in Bangkok, Central Park Towers in Jakarta and the Melbourne Convention Centre.
He is a Fellow member of Engineers Australia, and a subgroup leader of the research and postgraduate working group of Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).
Seifu is also a Member of the Australasian Wind Engineering Society (AWES) and other professional organisations.
