Lean Construction

Engineering context

Lean practices in construction are creating changes worldwide.

The lean approach focuses the supply chain on improving customer satisfaction and eliminating waste. While most organisations aspire to do this, lean organisations actively demonstrate improvement towards these outcomes by using tools, performance metrics and management strategies.

Recent analysis on several major projects and design organisations shows that labour productivity in the field and in the design office can be improved by more than 20 percent once lean practices are adopted.

This one-day introductory course is based on current research of world-leading organisations who have adopted lean thinking to great effect. It will enable you to understand the way a lean management approach can improve customer relationships, efficiency, capacity to innovate and to improve collaboration across the supply chain. It will also help you identify and use the tools and practices that have transformed outcomes for leading companies around the world.
